SRIJAN (Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint Action) is a grassroots implementation organisation that is improving incomes of 80,000 rural families in 15 backward districts of five states in India- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana. SRIJAN works as resource support organisation in Assam, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh on externally-aided projects and with state governments.
With attention to non-traditional livelihoods for women, through its work in Non-Timber Forest Produce value chains, SRIJAN promotes women to manage value chain enterprises. The women take leadership positions in the operations. Marketing and sales of these medium size enterprise amount to sales volume of more than 10 million rupees.
