Meenu Vadera is the Founding Member and Executive Director, Azad Foundation, a social enterprise that has been supporting resource-poor women to gain “Livelihoods with Dignity” for over a decade.
Meenu has over 30 years of work experience as a grassroots worker, trainer, implementer and leader. She has been involved in several development initiatives internationally as the Country Director in ActionAid Uganda (1998-2003). In India, she has led an innovative initiative of Aagaz Academy-Schools of Leadership for elected women panchayat leaders.
Meenu has written and published many articles on women’s rights and received multiple awards including, ‘International Inspiration’ Award by IBM iX; ‘Everywoman in Travel’ award, 2018; and she was also featured amongst the ‘Seven Women Changing the World for Good in 2019’.
Meenu has an MSc. in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics.
