Sujata Gothoskar

Sujata has been working as a researcher on issues of gender, work, and organisational processes, among others. She has also been involved in research as well as campaigns with the women’s movement and the labour movement for over 40 years now. Sujata has written in over 80 popular magazines, journals and newspapers in several languages, and continues to do so. She has authored and co-authored several monographs and books.

Sujata has been involved in the activities of several organisations and is involved in the training of workers, women and activists of unions, groups and non-governmental organisations. She has been part of the team of lecturers in the Geography, Economics and Sociology departments of the Bombay University and the TISS in the early 2000s.

Sujata has worked as a volunteer with YWCA in the 1980s, training women who were involved with Non-Traditional Skills like electrician-training. She has also worked with the Committee for Asian Women as a Program Officer in Bangkok and as the Coordinator of the IUF, India. She continues to work as a volunteer with the Forum Against Oppression of Women, Mumbai.
