Thangam George is a developmental professional with more than last two decades of work experience. She has rich experience in the field of adolescent empowerment, women’s health, education domain at the grassroots both in north and south states.

Currently, she leads the Southern Region Programs with Concern India Foundation which supports various grass root NGOs in all developmental domains. She has worked in Rajasthan, Gujarat and all states in south with various organisations. She was with Azim Premji Foundation and Aga Khan Health Services, India and in various projects funded by Mac Arthur Foundation, Buffet Foundation and with Baroda Citizens Council, a multi partner grassroots organization. Amidst all this the need to support women empowerment and livelihood has always been a common thread in most of the endeavors, especially now at Concern India Foundation.

With a passion for travel, cuisines, understanding cultures and endorsing native art and crafts, the rural hinterland enthuses her the most.

Thangam holds a Masters in Social Work from Maharaja Sayajirao University Vadodara, Gujarat.
